The maritime port in Cox’s Bazar has been asked to hoist cautionary signal (Great Danger Signal) 10 as cyclone Mocha has intensified into an extremely severe cyclonic storm over the east central Bay of Bengal.

The cautionary signal for Chattogram and Payra ports is 8 and Mongla 4.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Enamur Rahman disclosed the information at a briefing at Secretariat today.

Cyclone Mocha may hit the coastal area of Cox’s Bazar between 6:00am and 6:00pm, he said.
